Within the European drum & bass landscape – where names often rotate faster than trends – Shandrill stands out through a different approach. Without exaggerated hype, but with a consistent vision and a clearly defined musical direction. Her name is appearing more and more frequently on harder club nights and festival line-ups, and not by coincidence.
Shandrill operates primarily within drum & bass, focusing on its darker and more technical forms. Her take on neurofunk avoids empty showmanship; instead, it’s built on careful selection and precise energy control. Her sets have structure, natural progression, and clear dynamics. It’s not about chasing the heaviest drop, but about controlling space and guiding the crowd.
What distinguishes Shandrill is her attitude. She doesn’t put herself at the center at the expense of the music. DJing is a service to the night – clean transitions, tracks given room to breathe, and a set that flows without unnecessary effects. She leads the audience rather than forcing it. She knows how to play a warm-up, prime time, or closing set, and likes to juggle between styles, switching things up and keeping it playful.
Alongside DJing, Shandrill is active in organization and production. She understands the behind-the-scenes reality of events, promoter communication, and how a line-up functions as a whole. This broader perspective translates directly into her performances: respect for time slots, context, and fellow artists.
Shandrill is now stepping into a new position as a booking manager at DNBTV, where she will be responsible for selected artists and their development. She brings a rare combination of hands-on DJ experience, promoter awareness, and a focus on long-term strategy. The goal isn’t short-lived hype, but systematic artist development and positioning on both local and international stages.
Her career isn’t built on a single viral moment, but on steady growth and reliability. That’s what allows her to think not only as a DJ, but also as a long-term partner for both promoters and artists.
There was a time when I played only neurofunk and, honestly, after a while it burned me out. I still love heavy sounds (not just in DnB), but as I’ve gotten older I’ve started to appreciate variety more and more. I always try to play the kind of sets I’d actually want to dance to myself. Liquid mixed with neuro, old-school happy hardcore, ragga DnB — I like to surprise people and be surprised myself.
Definitely the most important thing is the vibe on the dancefloor. A long time ago I used to stress about things going wrong, about missing that perfect double drop I had dreamed of. These days it just makes me smile and I actually enjoy hearing moments like that in other people’s sets too. At least you know it’s a human behind the decks, not AI 😉
DJing taught me empathy. I know what it feels like to travel few hours and then stand behind the decks, so as a booking manager I want artists to feel supported, free to focus on the vibe, and able to put their energy into producing and growing.
I’d love to change my title from “DJ” to “DJ and producer” while still staying true to myself and keeping that mythical life balance. When it comes to the artists I work with, even if our paths cross only for a while, I want them to look back and remember our collaboration as something positive and meaningful.
Shandrill isn’t a name built on spectacle. She represents a combination of strong musical identity, professionalism, and an ability to view the scene in a broader context. As both a DJ and a booking manager, she strengthens DNBTV in a way that makes long-term sense.
