There was a time when I played only neurofunk and, honestly, after a while it burned me out. I still love heavy sounds (not just in DnB), but as I’ve gotten older I’ve started to appreciate variety more and more. I always try to play the kind of sets I’d actually want to dance to myself. Liquid mixed with neuro, old-school happy hardcore, ragga DnB — I like to surprise people and be surprised myself.
Definitely the most important thing is the vibe on the dancefloor. A long time ago I used to stress about things going wrong, about missing that perfect double drop I had dreamed of. These days it just makes me smile and I actually enjoy hearing moments like that in other people’s sets too. At least you know it’s a human behind the decks, not AI 😉
DJing taught me empathy. I know what it feels like to travel few hours and then stand behind the decks, so as a booking manager I want artists to feel supported, free to focus on the vibe, and able to put their energy into producing and growing.
I’d love to change my title from “DJ” to “DJ and producer” while still staying true to myself and keeping that mythical life balance. When it comes to the artists I work with, even if our paths cross only for a while, I want them to look back and remember our collaboration as something positive and meaningful.
